Greetings, OutSupport friends!
We hope that you are taking some time for self care…the news has not been pretty this year so far, but please always know that we at OutSupport will continue to fight for you and your families, in the ways that we can. We’ve been at this since 2013, and we don’t plan on stopping any time soon!
Here are a few things to be aware of in the next month or so:
Medina area:
* March 11 11:00am Wadsworth Memorial Park Rock-n-Roll Humanist Drag Queen Story Hour
Donations will go to the B. Riley House and a fund for the Club Q shooting survivors. Given the current political climate, a Parasol Patrol will be forming at the park at 8:30 am to shield attendees from the possible protesters. Bring a rainbow umbrella. Please note that this event has sparked much controversy in Wadsworth. If you go, please be safe!
* March 14. 7:00pm Unity of Medina * Monthly Support Meeting * We will be continuing to meet at Unity for the foreseeable future on the 2nd Tuesday of each month throughout the summer. At our April meeting, we will be welcoming Rebecca Parkhurst from the Medina Health Dept. to update us on offerings at the Health Dept.

Attached, please find several opportunities to advance understanding of gender diversity through research done locally. Are you a parent or teacher of gender diverse youth? Interested in LGBTQ Inclusive Sex Ed? Queer and BIPOC? Want to learn more about the It Gets Better organization? It’s all in the attachments!!
We are super excited about our new bookmarks that we’ve distributed to the GSA groups in Medina County, plus the Medina County District Library, and the Wadsworth Library with positive steps that youth can take to stay RADIANT, VIVID, VIBRANT, and BRILLIANT!
We want the youth of Medina County to know that they are awesome by design, and that we have their backs!
We hope to have updates soon on “the flag situation in Medina”….Medina City Council is determining protocol for all flags and banners on the Medina Square. I may send out a separate email regarding any city council meetings where this will be on the agenda, and invite all allies to attend. I will let you know as soon as I know. There is a lot of resistance to change in this community, but I trust that you will be able to support our flags being raised (or new banners that would need to be purchased, if that’s what the council decides upon). I’ll keep you posted!!
Stay strong, friends!
Big hugs and kindest regards,
Sandy
